Richard Coats - bio

was introduced to sport at the age of 5, and as a young boy enjoyed gymnastics and swimming. I soon found a love of adventure sports, learning how to snow ski and water ski in Scotland....( toughening me up somewhat)  My love of sports and fitness, grew, and in my teenage years, whilst at school tried my hand at most sports, including tennis, football, badminton, climbing, longboarding, trampolining, squash , table tennis, golf , even tried a bit of rowing. Anything that was not too academic ! 

At this time I focussed on swimming and competed at club level, and in my late teens took up the Japanese martial art of Aikido. This was my first introduction into training the mind as well as the body, and where my journey into Yoga began, as I began to educate myself through personal practice /  and studying classic yoga books

From the year 2000 I started to work for myself as a massage therapist, after training in advanced massage therapy with the western school of massage. I enjoyed travelling, absorbing different cultures. In 2000 I took a year to live and work in Israel, and in 2003 my travels took me to south east Asia   Australia and New Zealand. and continued my own personal yoga practice.

Whilst living and working in the USA in 2008 I started training as a yoga teacher, and then deciding to further my training I attended The Yoga University, in India - Yoga Vidya Gurukul, http://www.yogapoint.com 

In 2011 I started training with the PT Acedemy, and am currently working through my reps level 1, 2 and 3. Focussing on personal training, and obesity and diabetes management.

I aim to deliver a personal experience to all my clients. Making sure they achieve there goals. I am passionate about health and fitness, and with my knowledge, experience and holistic approach - nothing is impossible.
